In Nojalpur Bangar, young Nitin laced his worn shoes at dawn. The whole village turned out for the first race. A dusty track cut through fields, littered with mud, stones, and blazing heat. The starting whistle blew and Nitin surged forward. He stumbled in the mud, gritted his teeth, and pushed on. Sweat stung his eyes as he crossed the finish line first. The crowd erupted, lifting him high. Breathless and beaming, Nitin looked to the horizon. This was only the beginning. He would train harder for far bigger races.
