Late at night, a royal servant appeared at the princess's door and bowed politely. "Your father, the King, is calling you," he said gently. "He must speak with you about something important. Please come with me, Princess." The princess listened, then left her bedroom, holding her fluffy cat close in her arms. Quietly she walked through the beautiful castle hallway toward her father's room. She reached the King's chamber and stepped inside. Her father lay resting on his grand bed, and she gazed at him with quiet worry.
